Crop Party will begin at 7:00 p.m.

A recent email from Denise stated this about inclement weather:

If the weather prevents us from driving to Russellville we will cancel the Extravaganza. However, we will ship to you the goody bag, t-shirt, and all 8 class kits free of charge. Instruction sheets with photos will be provided for each class kit.

If the weather is bad but driveable for us we will not cancel however, if your area is to icy and you can't drive we will ship all your goodies to you free of charge.

This is for bad weather only.

We feel that this is the best way to make it fair to everyone.

Happy Valentines Day! UPDATES FROM THE ATTIC!!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!
Good morning! Most all the snow is gone from our yard - and hopefully all of yours too! I am SO READY for warmer weather!!Flip Flops and shorts and sunshine, oh my!

Today is a day for LOVE so I hope you can enjoy this day with a loved one and make it a great one!

ATTIC UPDATES:
We have several classes planned at the Attic. You really don't want to miss these! I'm teaching a Tattered Angels class on March 27th and this is going to be packed with techniques you may have not thought of! We will be using our Glimmer Mists to create a cute mini album using everyday materials. Please stop by the Attic soon and check out all that is going on!

HAVE YOU EVER DREAMED OF BEING IN A BUILDING FILLED WITH ALL THE SCRAPBOOK SUPPLIES YOU COULD EVER - EVER- IMAGINE?????? WELL YOU CAN!!!!!!!!
Denise at the Scrapbook Attic is offering all scrappers to win the opportunity to go with her to market in July. Yes, I know, exciting, huh? You will get to ride up with Denise and her crazy scrapbook crew to Chicago and stay in the hotel with Denise and her crazy crew. Denise will pay for your hotel, transportation and fees into CHA. You will only be responsible for your meals. Scrappers, I can’t tell you how mind blowing it is to walk into CHA and see scrapbook product everywhere!!!! I wanted to share some inspiration for some decorating ideas that you could use year round if you wanted to. I found this video over at Rhonna Farrer's blog. I really think these are just the cutest thing and so easy to make! You can make these for birthday parties or any holiday. You could even change them out for the mood you are in! Just think of the POSSIBILITIES!!

I'm quitting my job here in town (my last day is Dec. 15th and I CAN'T WAIT!!), so I'm going to be able to blog a bit more often. ONLY 19 MORE DAYS!!!!!

Only 19 more days!! Can't you just smell the paper now?? Oh, we are busy busy for you guys! I know Denise has boxes piled up just waiting for the Extravaganza.... and the new product... it is ALL so good! The side classes are going to be great! All the teachers have been busy with their projects making them extra special for all of YOU!!

We will be extending the crop at the fair grounds until Sunday at 2 p.m. The cost will be $10 per person. This will allow you to stay past 1 a.m. or you can leave, go get some rest and come back Sunday morning. Your choice. Email Denise at usoffice@csw.net in the subject line put the word crop and include your name and phone number. She will automatically charge your credit card that you have on file. If you would like to use a different card please list the new card number in the email. This will be a nonrefundable fee.

I just finished up designing a Year In One Night class for Denise and have been busy- with so much too do!
I know I'm still slacking here, but after Extravaganza I'll have much more free time. I'm going to try to have layout ideas and tutorials here for you all soon.

Here's a sneak peek for you.... If you buy the Year In One Night kit you can find a layout in there that will satisfy your curiosity about these photos. I loved making this page. Not your traditional Christmas colors, but they are really growing on me.

Good morning! WOW!! It has been awhile since I've been here. Yes I, the scrappy blogger, have been MIA!

SO WHERE have I been and WHAT have I been doing??? Well, in an email Denise sent out earlier you might remember her mentioning how her slaves were helping her out this year... well, UM, I think I have been enlisted!!! I don't mind!! I love it :) I have 4 classes to teach on Friday this year... I've been working on A Year In One Night kits, and kitting for 2 of my own classes here at home! So THAT is what I have been doing! So let's see, that is 6 classes, and 12 layouts!! Yep, guess I might have a few things to do ... and ONLY 32 DAYS TO DO IT!!! *I'm not gonna panic, I'm not gonna panic!!! * But I'm over half way there... that is the good news!!
I'm up to my neck in paper, stickers, layouts, ribbon, boxes, and just about anything else that will fit in my scrap room!!

Hmmm, where do I start?
If you are coming to the Extravaganza this year and don't have your ticket bought yet...THEN YOU BETTER HURRY!!!!!!!!!!

New product is coming in and Denise has been busier than ever! With all that and planning for the Extravaganza too, well...next time you see her you might just THANK HER for doing all she does!

And she has the full time job of SPOILING her new babies!! I was at The Attic a couple of weeks ago and I got my chance to play with little Gage for a bit. He is such a sweet little guy! They are really blessed!!

OK, I could talk about babies all day long, but back to some SCRAPPY stuff :)
Did you know that we are ONLY 1 MONTH AND 2 DAYS from the EXTRAVAGANZA!!?? That is 32 DAYS????
They are working hard at The Attic to make this Extravaganza a great one for us! Denise says this will be such a good one this year! I think the goodie bags will be fantastic and there may even be a trick or two up her sleeve!! Extras? Hmmm.... maaaybe? We'll just have to wait and see! Me included- I can't get her to spill the beans about anything... it is all TOP SECRET!!! But hey, we all love surprises, don't we??

I didn't realize it, but October is a busy month!! All the fall festivals going on at schools and churches, hayrides and parent teacher conferences... and getting ready for the Extravaganza, then HALLOWEEN!! WOW! My head is spinning!! But it will all be worth it! I have 2 boys in our Fall Festival this year and that will be a new thing for me as neither one have been in anything like that before. YES, you know I'll HAVE to post pictures to brag to all of ya'll out there.... Not brag, um, be proud of!! ;)

Just wanted to bring some updates to you and check back in since it has been ahwile. I've got to get back to my SLAVING- ha ha!! Forgive me if I don't update as often as I really am covered up with things to do.

On a sad note, Denise lost her grandmother on Wednesday evening. I know they were very close and she will be missed terribly. Please keep Denise and her family in your prayers.

Good morning! What is a girl to do at 4 in the morning when she can't sleep?? Give you blog updates!!

We have 1 month and 11 days until the 9th Annual Scrapbook Extravaganza!! Are you getting excited? I'm just beside myself... I can't wait!! It is going to be sooo good and Denise said there are only 40 tickets left! So, if you are not sure if you are coming then you better decide quick before they are all gone and you miss something very, very good.

REMINDER: Get your t-shirt size in ASAP to make sure you get the size you want!!

If you would like to take any of the Side Classes on Friday you need to get signed up as they are filling up FAST!

There are 12 spots in each of the classes for Friday and there are only a few seats remaining in a few of the classes, so call Denise or register online to make sure you get to take the class you want. They are all going to be packed with materials and the projects you will take home will be fantastic! Don't miss out, HURRY!! We want to see you there!

Addison Grace is here! Extravaganza Side class list update.......

Brett and Meagan welcomed their baby girl Addison Grace into the world on September 17th, 2009.
Weighing in at 6 lbs. 5 oz. and 19 1/2 inches long.

Both Mommy and baby are doing great.

THE UPDATES WENT OUT IN AN EMAIL EARLIER THIS WEEK, BUT IN CASE YOU MISSED IT, I'LL POST DETAILS HERE...
We are less than 2 months away from our 9th annual scrapbook extravaganza.

There are only a handful of tickets remaining!

Many of you already have your tickets purchased. Thank You!
September 30th is your last chance to put your ticket on a payment plan.

Down Payment thru September 30th $65.00
Final Payment November 1st $65.00
Go online at www.scrapus.com and register...don't forget all the awesome side classes!!!!

Deadline to choose your T-Shirt size has changed to September 30th. We will, of course, order everyone a shirt however you will not be guaranteed your size after September 30th. It will be on a first come basis.

How will this work?
On Friday evening when the shirts are handed out, those that purchased tickets after September 30th will need to wait until everyone has a shirt then we will begin in ticket order calling the names of those that did not get a shirt. You will get your choice of what shirts we have available at that time. Hopefully we won't have this problem because I know you are going to go straight to the website and register.

We have twelve awesome classes lined up for you on Friday. Scroll down below to find the class you are most interested in. A couple of the classes are not quite finished yet so there are no pictures. I will post the photo's as soon as they are available.
This year we are offering a payment plan if you sign up by SEPTEMBER 30.
Your card must be ran the day you sign up and paid in full by October 31st.
For Example: If you purchase the Grungeboard for $35 and the Christmas Canvas for $30 you will need to put down at least $32 the remaining balance will be deducted on October 31st. Hopefully this will help!

We are limited on seating.

Tim Holtz and Grungeboard: two very good things! You will use his
Grungeboard elements and vintage dictionary papers to create a shabby,
vintage, cool bracket shaped mini album to fill with your own memoirs.

This project will feature Tim's Grungeboard Bracket album and his
Grungeboard Elements, vintage dictionary papers, Distress Stickles,
Distress Inks, and his really great Adage Tickets. This is one you
don't want to miss out on!

Items to bring with you to this class: scissors, glue dots, really strong liquid adhesive that will dry clear.

CLASS TWO

Tattered Angels
"FRIENDS" mini album

This class will introduce you to the wonderful world of Tattered Angels product. You will learn how to mist your pages with their trademark Glimmer Mist. Using the mist will give you the option to create your own background papers and it has sparkle! All the dozens of colors have one thing in common: they have mica right in the mix and it gives a spectacular shine! You will spray your way to a beautiful finished album complete with butterflies in cardboard, canvas and Glimmer Glass. You will have the option to personalize this 6X6 mini album for your friend, your mom, or just for you. Be ready to get creative and experiment to make your own, unique album.

Items to bring with you to this class: Scissors, adhesives, paper piercer, paper trimmer.

CLASS THREE

Christmas Canvas Class

In this class you will complete a 12" X 24" Christmas canvas. This will be a home décor item to display proudly during the holidays for all to see.
We will be using the new Bo Bunny line: St. Nick, some antique sheet music, flowers, and lots of paint.
We will glue, cut, paint, embellish, and get our hands dirty for this class. Come ready to create and have fun.

Items needed: SMALL pair scissors, paper trimmer, heat gun if you have one and want to bring it (for speeding up the drying times of the layers of paint and Gel Medium we will be using to attach our papers)

Home Decor Clock

You will make a one of a kind clock in this class using the brand new Amber Road collection from Pink Paislee. Will you give it as a Christmas gift or want to keep it for yourself? You'll have to decide that one, but I'm keeping mine! You will learn how to turn an ordinary wooden clock into a beautiful and functional piece using the newest papers and rubons by Pink Paislee. The colors will be muted greens and deep browns, just beautiful together!

Our Home Mini Album

Hello!
Have you all built your boats yet? I think we need to soon!! We had so much rain here that our neighbor's pond overflow came through our yard, and brought his fish with it! We literally had small perch floating across our driveway! I could not believe it! My son picked them up and put them in our bird bath to "save their lives"! He was so proud of himself!!
This weather makes me want to stay in, be lazy, and scrapbook! I made this tonight with the new Amber Road from Pink Paislee. I think this is one of my most favorite lines I've seen so far. Love the colors...so rich and perfect for fall.

I used the punch outs and the Canvas Tag Patch on this page. You get three of those tags in a package and they are all gorgeous.

This photo shows the detail of the paper pleating I've done. It is easy, just fold and staple, and repeat. You have to staple the ends together (2-3 pleated pieces) to get the 12X12 length. Easy to do and adds a bit of interest to the pages.

WE ARE ALMOST THERE... 9TH ANNUAL SCRAPBOOK EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!!!!!! IF YOU HAVEN'T GOT A TICKET YET YOU BETTER RUN....DON'T WALK TO THE ATTIC FOR YOURS BEFORE THEY ARE ALL GONE AND YOU MISS THE BEST EVENT ARKANSAS HAS TO OFFER!!!!!!

Girls, two months from tomorrow we will be standing in line waiting to have one of the biggest scrappy days of the year! I can't believe how fast time is flying by! Also, there are ONLY 97 shopping days left until CHRISTMAS!!It will be here before you know it!

Speaking of Christmas and gift ideas... we are going to have several extra classes you can take on Friday the 13th... (a lucky day for us!) The pictures and pricing for these classes will be coming to your inbox soon, so keep watching for new email from The Attic!! These classes will be just what you need to help you along the way in your shopping. I think you will be very happy with what we have planned this year!

Along with all the good stuff on Friday going on, Saturday will be the cherry on top! I've been giving you information on some of the new lines coming to The Attic and today I'm featuring JILLIBEAN SOUP Click on the name and it will take you to their homepage, which is one of the cutest ones EVER!! Go check out their BLOG. It is just as cute as their new line!

Two peas have lots of videos from CHA and this is one I've borrowed from You Tube(I'm sure the contest she talks about it WAY over as this is from July) This really shows you some papers and embellies close up from Jillibean and my favorite is Alphabet Soup- SO CUTE!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the booth here!! I am really considering this tin for the walls in my scrapbook hut we're finishing!! Would it not be so cute to have a wall covered in tin and make it look old and shabby?

Some of you may know me, but for those of you who don't I'll tell you a bit about myself. My name is Lisa Hodge and I worked for Andrew and Denise at The Scrapbook Attic in Batesville until it closed. Then I went on to work for them in Searcy on Fridays. Denise had me designing layouts as well as some of her Year in One Night classes. You may have done a Make and Take with me at a previous Extravaganza! I will be teaching several classes on Friday at this years Scrapbook Extravaganza and hope to see a lot of you there!! I teach classes here in Cave City once a month and hope to teach in Searcy again sometime as well. Teaching other people how to create something they can call their own is what really brings me happiness! Showing people that they CAN be creative and artsy is just something I want to do! One of the extra classes on Friday that I will be teaching may very well be from Tattered Angels. They bring us GLIMMER MIST which brings me to our new featured company...TATTERED ANGELS . This is a great home dec project using Glimmer Mist

The last video today is from Wendy Senger the owner and creator of Glimmer Mist. She brings us great techniques that shows us exactly how to use the Glimmer Mist (and what to do when the paper curls...personally, I like the effect! I think it gives the paper character!!) Enjoy!!

Contest update!!

Ok, I said I'd pick a winner yesterday morning. Well, I'm going to extend the contest deadline to Monday night AUGUST 31, at 10:00 pm. I will also accept YOUR EMAILS and comments too. I realized after getting only 5 comments that maybe some of you gals might not know how to leave comments. I talked to a couple of ladies today that were having real issues getting the comment thing to work. I thought you could just click on the word comment and leave one. But I discovered you have to create an account (this is free, but it will cost you some of your time) which could create another problem. So, to solve the problem and be fair to ALL of you just click on EMAIL LISA at the top left corner. Send me an email and tell me what your favorite scrappin' product is. Also tell me what you would like to see here on the blog and I'll try to add in the suggestions in future posts. I'll save each email and choose one winner on Monday night. Don't worry! Hey ya'll!! Hope everyone is doing great out there!! Keep watching for the winner of the $25 scrappy prize from Denise. I know, I had said this morning, but it will be a little later. Stay tuned!!

Let me start by telling you Tim is a traveler!

You can go check out THIS blog entry and read all about one of his many travels.

He is a grungy guru! Most all of his stuff is for distressing, making vintage looking projects, and even the tools are made to distress! He has a hammer for distressing metals, eyelets, and even brads! It works! I have this little gem and it is too cool!!

Tim has all kinds of signature products! Look for this logo...

This one of his artistic creations... made from lots of goodies from his Idea-Ology line.

The Distress Ink is among one of my favorite things he has! As you can see from the picture below there are so many colors to choose from! He also has ink refills for each pad, Distress Stickles, and Distress Crackle paints in each of the colors as the inks. So they all match and blend so good. You can blend the inks with water or spritz them with water and get all kinds of great effects.

Here are a couple of videos for you. This one shows you some of the great things to do with his Distress Inks. (He uses water with his inks... I've used regular old rubbing alcohol *clear stuff* and it is wonderful! It has a raised/embossed effect! You should try it with both the water and the alcohol and see which you like better).
